Veteran Indian keeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik says Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya will lead India in the 2023 ODI World Cup on home soil. After leading Gujarat Titans (GT) to the IPL 2022 title, Hardy is all set to captain the future Indian team.
Rohit will lead India in ODIs and Hardik in T20Is when the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for the upcoming ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka on Tuesday, December 27.
Speaking to Cricbus, Karthik said that Rohit and Dhawan are big names in the Indian team and the match will be between them.
“India have many options like Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant. But for now it will be a toss up between Rohit and Hardik Pandya or Rohit and Hardik Pandya will be captain and vice-captain leading into the World Cup.”
Senior players will now be included in ODI series and young players will be included in more Test series.
