78% overwhelming vote rate
Son Heung-min, captain of Tottenham Hotspur in the English Professional Football Premier League (EPL), scored a corner kick in the game against Manchester United and was selected as the club’s ‘Goal of December’.
Tottenham announced on the club website on the 3rd (Korean time) that Son Heung-min was selected as the ‘Goal of the Month’ winner.
Son Heung-min’s goal received an overwhelming 78% of the votes in the Goal of the Month vote conducted on the club’s official website and application.
This is the second time that Son Heung-min has won the Goal of the Month award at Tottenham, following August of last year.
Son Heung-min hit the net at the end of the game when the team was ahead 3-2 in the quarterfinals of the 2024-2025 English League Cup against Manchester United held at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England on the 20th of last month.
In the 43rd minute of the second half, Son Heung-min’s right-footed corner kick flew in a sharp trajectory, passing the goalkeeper’s key and successfully scoring.
Afterwards, the team conceded a goal in extra time in the second half, and Son Heung-min’s goal became the winning goal.
Tottenham, who reached the semifinals of the League Cup thanks to Son Heung-min’s performance, will compete with Liverpool for a place in the final.
Tottenham will play the first game at home on the 9th and the second game away on the 7th of next month.
