National soccer player Son Heung-min (Tottenham, 32) revealed his honest thoughts on the description ‘world class’.

Son Heung-min appeared on the web entertainment show ‘Salon Drip 2’ released on the YouTube channel ‘Theo’ on the 3rd. When asked by host Jang Do-yeon, “Do you think you are world-class?”, he firmly answered, “There can be no debate about a player who is truly world-class.”

Jang Do-yeon explained, “I think he always answers humbly. Son Heung-min is already world-class, but he meant that he knew that.”

Son Heung-min said, “A world-class person is someone who is the best at soccer in the world,” and “Everyone naturally thinks that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are world-class. If you go somewhere and ask, ‘Is Son Heung-min world-class?’ and there’s even the slightest doubt, then he is not world-class.”

He said, “My dream is to become the best soccer player in the world,” and emphasized, “That dream is still in progress. Some people may think that I have achieved my dream, but I am still working hard and running forward toward my dream.”

Earlier, Son Heung-min’s father, Son Woong-jung, the coach of Son Football Academy, also showed a strict attitude when asked about the matter, saying, “Heung-min is not world-class.” When he appeared on the tvN entertainment program ‘You Quiz on the Block’ in December 2022, he said, “I may be conservative because he is my child, but I always hope that Heung-min will grow by 10% in all aspects related to football.”
