Rahul Dravid’s son Samit Dravid is moving towards making a career in cricket following his father’s path. Along that path, Samit took a big step. For the first time, this teenager has been called up to the India U-19 team.
India Youth will play one-day and four-day match series against Australia Youth. Samit has made it to the team of these two series. This 18-year-old teenager has got the result of performing well for the Indian age group domestic team.
Following his father’s path, Samit’s position is different. Rahul Dravid is regarded as the symbol of batting accuracy in cricket history. However, he also did wicketkeeping for the needs of the team. But his son Samit is an all-rounder. Apart from batting in the middle order, he also bowled medium pace.
Samit got the call mainly in the Cooch Behar tournament. He scored 362 runs in 8 matches and took 16 wickets in this four-day match tournament with Indian youth. Such an all-round performance opens the door to the national team.
Australian youth will visit India next September. The three matches of the 50-over series in Puducherry will be played on September 21, 23 and 26. The two four-day matches in Chennai will start on September 30 and October 7.
