Senior Congress leader Mallikarjuna Karge on Monday said that Sonia Gandhi was not the only one responsible for the defeat in the five state assembly elections.
The Congress lost the assembly elections in five states, including Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Meanwhile, Punjab has lost power.
In this context, the Congress Working Committee meeting was held yesterday. The meeting discussed the post of party leader and election defeat.
According to Mallikarjuna Karge:
We all told Sonia Gandhi that neither Sonia Gandhi nor the Gandhi family was responsible for the defeat in five states. All state leaders and MPs are responsible for the failure.
We have faith in Sonia Gandhi. He has no question of resigning.
Strategies to strengthen the party were discussed. We will fight against the BJP and its ideology. He said that we will strengthen our ideology and perform better than before in the coming elections.
