Microsoft has entered into various agreements to carry or maintain Call of Duty to various platforms for ten years as long as your purchase of Activision Blizzard closes successfully. The last one has been with Sony, which has not been too unexpected since the company has never seen internally Call of Duty as a necessity to maintain its leadership in the console sector. But facing the gallery, Sony has not stopped saying for more than a year that the purchase of Activision was going to seriously harm it.

The agreement has been announced by Phil Spencer and Brad Smith, director of Xbox and vice president of Microsoft respectively. This paves the way for Microsoft to finally acquire Activision Blizzard King for around $69 billion. It does not appear that the US FTC is going to succeed in blocking the purchase, and the British Competition regulator is about to reverse its ban.

With the agreement, Sony ensures that for ten years the launch of the games and all their content for current and future PlayStations will be on par with other platforms. The initial agreement offered a year ago to Sony was for three years, which was rejected outright by the Japanese company. Then the legal problems began to arrive to get the go-ahead from governments, and Microsoft began offering ten years to everyone. Sony has finally accepted the offer, and the end of this soap opera is near.
