Sony announced LYTIA, a rebranding of the photo sensor designed for smart phones

by time news

Sony is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of photo sensors for smart phone devices, and now it has announced that it has decided to brand these products under one name – LYTIA. According to Sony, the name consists of combining the letters between “Lyra” which is a constellation, and the word “Light”.

Sony believes that the new branding will make it easier for users to identify Sony’s photo sensors, understand the technical advantages inherent in them, and perhaps even prefer models that come with these sensors – including, of course, Sony’s own devices. However, it is still unclear whether LYTIA will completely replace the IMX letter combination that Sony has used so far in the names of its sensors, or will be presented alongside it. At this stage, it is an initial exposure, with announcements of actual products bearing the brand name coming later.

The manufacturer even made sure to produce a one-and-a-half-minute long video that promises greatness, such as photographic sensors with performance “beyond imagination”, and supreme creative abilities. The video, by the way, ends with a clear caption stating that the advertisement itself was shot using professional cameras, that is, not the photo sensors for mobile devices that the LYTIA brand is supposed to promote.
