New technical reports revealed that the Japanese company “Sony” has started mass production of the “PlayStation VR2” headphones.

The company indicated that it “will maintain a high production pace until the launch of the headset early next year.”

Sony aims to have two million units of headphones by March 2023.

Production pace will be adjusted after the launch of the headphones based on initial sales.

The reports pointed out that “the mass production of the virtual reality headset began last September without any restrictions in the supply chain.”

As the demand for PlayStation 5 continues to rise, Sony is also planning to produce more consoles in early 2023.

The PlayStation 5 has been facing limited availability since its launch in November 2020.

However, some users are concerned about the price of the PSVR2 headset; Because of its more advanced features compared to its predecessor, especially as it will compete with the Quest 2 virtual reality headset, which “Meta” recently raised its price to $ 40.0, an increase of $100.

It took Sony over a year to sell two million units of its first PSVR headset, but it was released at a time when virtual reality wasn’t quite as familiar as it is now.

As of January 2020, five million PSVR units have been sold, and with the new release of the new headphones, Sony plans to have two million headphones ready for the PSVR2 launch period.

According to reports, there are some obvious upgrades on this new headset, as the glasses can be plugged into the USB-C port on your PS5 immediately without any other requirements.

Also inside the headset are dual OLED screens with a resolution of 2000 x 2040 pixels.
