Sony continues to buy companies to strengthen its PlayStation division and this time it focuses on audio. It has acquired the headphone firm Audeze, which produces both professional and gamer models, although the company has assured that it will continue to operate independently. It is the company where Manny Marroquín worked as director of professional products, a famous Guatemalan sound engineer with many awards behind him.

According to Sony, “Audeze is a leading headset brand, and this acquisition underscores that we are focused on innovation and providing the best audio experience for PlayStation gamers. We are delighted to bring the Audeze experience to the PlayStation ecosystem, building on the great progress made with PS5’s Tempest 3D AudioTech technology and the Pulse 3D wireless headset.”

Sony focuses on the planar magnetic drivers used by Audeze in its headphones which provide an extraordinary sound experience for consumers and professionals alike. He has also indicated that the upcoming PS5 headset will include low-latency, lossless sound called PlayStation Link, which will work on Windows and macOS with a USB receiver.
