Shafakna – International media reported that Sony has developed a new portable PlayStation Q Lite, which is still in the quality assurance testing phase.

She added that the new portable device is described as a PlayStation 5 DualSense device with an 8-inch LCD screen, but the important thing is that it will only work with Sony’s PlayStation Remote Play.

The device will be able to stream PS5 games, but it won’t be able to play games on its own without an internet connection. There is no confirmation whether it will be able to work with other cloud-based gaming platforms.

Based on the information provided, Sony’s upcoming PlayStation Portable could be similar to the Nintendo Wii U GamePad that connects to the Wii U via a modified low-latency Wi-Fi protocol and allows you to play your games on a smaller screen as long as you are on the same network as the console.

Project Q Lite will have adaptive triggers, speakers, volume buttons and a 3.5mm audio jack. The screen will support 1080p resolution at 60fps.

Sony is expected to launch its new portable device right after the upcoming PS5 with a detachable drive which is expected to launch in September this year and before the rumored PlayStation 5 Pro announcement will take place in late 2024.
