by time news

Sony’s surprise at CES: Sony, which is known mainly for the production of TV screens and quality audio products, presented the concept jeep during the CES exhibition Vision-S 02. This is an upgraded version of the Vision-S 01 that was introduced as early as 2020. Sony has announced that it is exploring the possibility of a commercial launch of the vehicle, making the Sony electric jeep project more real than ever. During the show Sony introduced the two vehicles, the Vision-S 01 and the Vision-S 02, when it appears that these are two relatively similar vehicles. The only difference can be seen in the wheels, when the Jeep appears to have aerodynamic rims while the sedan car has more open rims.

Sony did not elaborate on the electric vehicle plans, but about two years ago, when it announced the sedan vehicle, it stated that it is a vehicle with 400 kilowatt engines that provide 536 horsepower, and allow a jump from 0 to 100 in just 4.8 seconds. The maximum speed is 240 km / h, and it is not yet clear what the range of cars is, when they will be available and of course – the prices.

Sony has announced that this spring it will set up a new company called Sony Mobility which will focus on the automotive worlds. Sony also elaborated on the many sensors in the vehicle. Recall that Sony is one of the largest manufacturers of photo sensors in the world, and it seems that the photography division plays a significant role in the electric vehicle. Sony further detailed that the vehicle will come with 40 different sensors: 18 camera sensors, 18 ToF and ultra-sonic radar sensors and 4 LiDAR sensors that help orient in the dark.

We’ve heard of the electric vehicle over the last two years, and it seems that Sony has stuck to the goal, but it is not clear what it has achieved so far to realize the vision. But it seems that Sony’s vision is advancing and marching to a commercial vehicle, and if it does get on the production line, we are likely to see it in a few years.
