Sony continues to work to solve the enormous shortage of units for its next-generation console, the PlayStation 5. As recently reported in a presentation to investors, the Japanese company expects the number of systems available for sale to continue to increase over the coming months. Specific, to 2024, the firm has projected that the sales of the machine will exceed those achieved by PS4 in its fourth year of life. If a year after its launch, 22% of US users said they were interested in purchasing a PlayStation 4, with PS5 that figure has increased to 55% with the same time elapsed since the start of the machine’s marketing.
The report also shows that it currently takes 82 minutes to sell 80,000 PlayStation 5 units. In the case of PS4, it took nine days. According to the figures shared by Sony, Spanish users are the tenth in the world who are most interested in acquiring one of their new generation machines.
“There is great demand and interest. When there is sufficient supply, as in the case of Nintendo Switch, the sales of new generation consoles are being overwhelming”, José María Moreno, general director of the Spanish Video Game Association (AEVI), recently stated in conversation with ABC. Serious bet on Virtual Reality
