Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf announced preparations to hold the third summit within the tripartite mechanism that includes Tunisia, Libya and Algeria, in Tripoli at the beginning of this year 2025.

Attaf confirmed, “Coordination with Libya and Tunisia to prepare for the third summit to be held in the capital, Tripoli, at the beginning of this month.”

He added, “Algeria’s proposal to establish a tripartite consultation mechanism received the approval and involvement of both Tunisia and Libya, where meetings were held, which resulted in actual cooperation projects to deal with the problems that directly concern these countries.”

The leaders of Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya agreed to hold a tripartite Maghreb meeting, every three months, during the first summit held in Algeria on the sidelines of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, last February.

Last April, Tunisia hosted the second tripartite summit in the presence of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Tunisian President Kais Saied, and the President of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Younes Menfi.

The outcomes of the meeting stressed “the complete rejection of foreign interference in Libyan affairs and support of efforts seeking to organize elections that preserve the safety, security and stability of Libya, and non-interference in the internal affairs of the three countries.”
