Soon to be judged by the Court of Justice of the Republic, Éric Dupond-Moretti stakes his political future

For the first time in the history of the Fifth Republic, a minister will be tried in office, for acts accomplished in his capacity as minister. Éric Dupond-Moretti is suspected of illegal taking of interests. The question raised is whether he used prerogatives at Place Vendôme to settle scores with magistrates to whom he had opposed. In particular by triggering an administrative investigation against magistrates who had gone through his telephone records as part of the so-called Bismuth investigation, while he was a lawyer. He will appear in just one week, from November 6, before the Court of Justice of the Republic (CJR).
