jpnn.comJAKARTA – The film Sorop, which is adapted from the viral story by SimpleMan, will be shown in cinemas starting December 19 2024.
However, before the film was officially broadcast, a printing press person embezzled ticket vouchers to watch the film Sorop.
Two individuals who worked at the printing press, namely H and Y, were then reported by MD Pictures to the Kemayoran Police on December 5 2024.
The two men were reported on suspicion of embezzlement which could potentially cause losses to MD Pictures of up to hundreds of millions of rupiah.
Producer and CEO of MD Pictures, Manoj Punjabi regrets this incident.
“This is a problem. We wanted to carry out a promotional strategy, but instead it became a problem because the vouchers were duplicated. That’s a big problem,” said Manoj Punjabi in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta, Friday (13/12) evening.
“We want to promote, so what, the MD must be responsible, and this involves unreasonably large sums,” he continued.
The producer, who has released many blockbuster films, admitted that he did not expect what happened.
MD Pictures reported to the police because someone was embezzling and duplicating Sorop film ticket vouchers.
