Baghdad / Obelisk Al-Hadath: An official source in Anbar Governorate revealed, on Monday, that the oversight authorities had opened an investigation into the files of the Golan Sports Stadium construction project in the city of Fallujah.

The source said, in a statement followed by Al-Masala, that “the oversight authorities opened an extensive investigation about the mechanism for disbursing an amount of about 6 billion dinars at the Golan Stadium in the city of Fallujah, the disappearance of sums of money equivalent to the establishment of multiple sports stadiums, and the referral of those involved to the judiciary.”

The source added, “The leader of the Taqaddam Party, Jassem al-Assal, who currently holds the position of deputy governor of Anbar, is responsible for the project to establish the Golan Sports Club.”

And he indicated that “the oversight authorities intend to open files for other corruption projects to establish stadiums, sports halls, and fictitious projects, and how to share their projects after humanitarian organizations spent huge sums of money for these projects and the disappearance of the money allocated to them by the central government.”

He stressed that “opening files of corruption in sports projects will overthrow prominent leaders in the Taqaddam Party and those close to Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi.”
