Sourou/Pentecost: Catholic faithful receive various sacraments
Tougan, (AIB)-The Catholic faithful of the province of Sourou celebrated Pentecost in the Notre Dame de l’Assomption church in Tougan on Sunday, May 28, 2023. During this celebration presided over by the parish priest, Father Daniel Zerbo, 145 Christians received the sacrament of confirmation, 26 were baptized and 24 others received their first communion.
For the parish priest, Father Daniel Zerbo, this celebration marks the coming of the Holy Spirit within the Christian community in order to mature their life of faith and send them to fulfill their mission without fear.
“According to the rules, the Christian receives his sacrament of confirmation only from the hands of the bishop,” he said.
However, given the blockade around the city of Tougan.
“I was delegated by Bishop Prospere Bonaventure Ki, bishop of our diocese of Dédougou to accomplish this mission”, he added.
Despite the difficult security situation around the city of Tougan, the excitement was there.
