South Asian Women’s Football: India beat Pakistan – Dinamani

Defending champions India beat Pakistan 3-0 in the first match of the South Asian Football Confederation (SAFF) Women’s Championship on Wednesday.

The game was completely under India’s control. India opened the scoring with an ‘one goal’ scored by Pakistani player Maria Jamil Khan in the 20th minute. Tangmei Grace of India scored in the next minute. Anju who was in possession of the ball was surrounded by Pakistani players and he passed it to Grace. Grace received it accurately and pushed it into the goal post without making a mistake.

Finally, in the 90+4th minute, Ranjana’s cross was converted into a wonderful goal by Soumya Gukuloth. With this victory, the Indian women’s team has come unbeaten in 27 matches in the South Asian Championship. India’s next match is against Maldives on the 10th.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh beat Maldives 5-0 in another match on Wednesday.
