The new price of soybean oil is effective from March 1. Bottled soybean oil will be sold at Tk 163 per liter at the retail level from Friday. And the price of open oil per liter will be Tk 149. Apart from this, the bottled 5 liter will be sold at Tk 800.

On February 20, a task force meeting was held at the Ministry of Commerce to review commodity prices and market conditions. Soybean oil prices are reduced there. On the same day, it was announced that the new price will be effective from March 1.

In the meeting that day, State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu said that the government has given a discount of 5 taka. You also give the same discount around the upcoming Ramadan. The mill owners and oil refiners present there agreed to it. As a result, the new price of soybean oil is determined.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina ordered to reduce the duty on 4 daily items in the cabinet meeting on January 29. They are – rice, edible oil, sugar and dates. Later the National Board of Revenue (NBR) took necessary action in this regard.

Then, on February 20, a meeting of the Ministry of Commerce was held. Then the Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Bonaspati Manufacturers Association announced a reduction in soybean oil prices. However, the prices of palm oil or other products have not been reduced.
