The Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle with the Fregat upper stage was launched on Friday from the Vostochny cosmodrome. The rocket is to launch 36 British communications satellites OneWeb into orbit.

Nine minutes after the launch, the “Fregat” with orbiters will separate from the third stage of the rocket. Putting satellites into orbit will take about four hours.

Initially, the launch of the rocket was scheduled for May 27, but for technical reasons it was postponed to a reserve date.
