Mayor Ricardo Nunes inaugurated this Monday, October 30th, a new section of local road on Marginal Pinheiros, towards Interlagos, South Zone of the capital. The work was a requirement from the Municipal Administration to the private sector, as compensation for the traffic generating hub for the Parque Global residential development.
The site also has a temporary connection that gives access to Bruno Covas Park, also built by the private sector. “I am very happy that we can be developing the city so much together with the private sector”, highlighted Mayor Ricardo Nunes.
The new section extends for almost 1.5 kilometers, at 14.500 Marginal Pinheiros. There are three new lanes, one of which is exclusive to buses. The interventions, worth R$30 million, lasted 11 months, between December 2022 and October 2023.
Around 400,000 vehicles pass through this stretch towards Interlagos every day. “The opening of this local track will bring many benefits to the region. Traditionally, it is a very congested stretch and these lanes will greatly free up traffic and benefit all residents of the South Zone”, said the president of CET, Hemilton Inoue.
Other works are planned, such as new sections and cycle path structures that will connect those that already exist, the construction of a new bridge over the Marginal and the opening of an access avenue from these three new lanes to the neighborhood’s internal streets.
“We have obligations due to the large projects we carry out, but on the other hand we have much greater obligations to the city than the legal obligation itself. It is in this spirit that we like to bring compensation and worry in general not about our enterprise, but about our entire surroundings”highlighted the founder of Bueno Neto, Adalberto Bueno Neto.
Furthermore, the mayor recalled that the extension works from Marginal Pinheiros to the Interlagos Race Track should begin next year. “The basic project should be completed in November, then we will launch the tender for the executive project and the work together”he said, highlighting other works in the region to improve traffic in the region, such as the widening of the Jurubatuba Bridge and Avenida Teotônio Vilela.
