The press service of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration said that the launch of the spacecraft will be carried out using the Falcon Heavy launch vehicle. The total value of the contract with the company was about $ 178 million.

The Europa Clipper probe will be equipped with a modern set of instruments to study the surface of the satellite of the largest planet in the solar system for suitability for life.

It is planned that during the mission, NASA specialists will take high-resolution images, determine the chemical composition of the satellite, study geological activity and measure the thickness of its ice cover.
