Intuitive Machines successfully launched its Nova-C-class lunar lander Odysseus on Thursday morning aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. This launch marks the second mission of NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) initiative, which aims to facilitate regular cargo deliveries to the Moon for both government and commercial purposes. SpaceX has used the Colcan 9 rocket to launch the Odysseus lander. It is expected to reach the south pole of the Moon i.e. India’s Vikram Lander on February 22. This is the first time that a private company will successfully land a spacecraft on the Moon.
Mask had made a deal of 118 million
The Odysseus lander has been built under NASA’s commercial program – Lunar Payload Service. For its launch, a deal worth $118 million (about Rs 980 crore) has been signed between NASA and Intuitive Machines. This mission has been launched on 15 February. The lander is expected to land on the lunar surface on February 22. The Odysseus lander is a 16-day mission. After landing on the lunar surface, it will collect information for 7 days.
