In Alicante, Spain, a blue shark was spotted near bathers a few meters from the beach. Panicked, they had to urgently get out of the water. The animal did not hurt anyone.

It’s hard not to panic. As they had fun swimming near Aguamarina beach in Orihuela Costa, in the province ofAlicante (Spain), bathers panicked on Thursday, June 15, when a surprise guest crashed the party. It was a blue shark about two meters that prowled near the shore.

After noting the presence of the fin, the rescuers immediately asked those present in the water to get out and reach the mainland. According to local media, a woman had a panic attack when she saw the animal near her.

After a few minutes, the animal finally moved away from the edge of the beach. No longer seeing the fin near the shore, the rescuers again authorized swimming during the day.

But, in reality, the blue shark would be harmless and would not attack humans. It feeds mainly on small fish, molluscs, cephalopods and occasionally birds, as reported by Fishipedia.

The animal was eventually found dead on La Caleta beach, less than 2 kilometers from where it was first seen. It should also be noted that this species makes rare passages at the level of the coast and spends most of its time in open water.
