He Government of Spain reported that none of its officials will attend the inauguration of the president-elect, Claudia Sheinbaumwho on October 1 will be the Constitutional President of the United Mexican States.

“The Government of Spain considers unacceptable the exclusion of His Majesty, the King (Philip VI) from the invitation to the inauguration of the elected president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum,” reads a statement.

Due to this action, the Government of Spain reiterated that it will not attend the solemn ceremony, which will take place next Tuesday, October 1, in the Chamber of Deputies of San Lázaro.

“For this reason, the Government of Spain has decided not to participate in said takeover at any level,” he emphasized.

For its part, the United States Government published this day the name of the officials who will accompany Jill Biden, the American first lady, to the inauguration of Claudia Sheinbaum, and among them will be Alejandro Mayorkas, secretary of the Department of United States Security.

In addition, the United States Ambassador to Mexico, Ken Salazar; and Elizabeth Sherwood, White House National Security Advisor.

Meanwhile, the presidential sash that the president-elect, Claudia Sheinbaum, will wear is already being prepared by elements of the Secretariat of National Defense.
