The Spanish premier has dissolved parliament and called early elections

The Spanish premier Pedro Sanchez decided to dissolve Parliament and call snap elections for July 23 after the defeat in Sunday’s administration. It is a political tsunami that many feared but no one expected in such proportions. Addressing the nation on TV from the Moncloa palace, Snchez announced that he had communicated to King Felipe VI, head of state, the meeting of an extraordinary Council of Ministers on Monday afternoon to dissolve the Courts and proceed with the calling of general elections.
