Spain Wins Women’s World Cup Hockey First Match: England vs India Clash Today

Amstelveen: Spain beat Canada 4-1 in the first match of the Women’s World Cup of Hockey series. India will face England in their first match today. The 15th edition of Women’s Hockey World Cup is being held in Netherlands and Spain. A maximum of 16 countries are participating in this series which started yesterday. Only 12 teams have participated in the previous 14 series. The league round is going on in 4 divisions with 4 teams each. Team India faces the challenge of China, England and New Zealand in Group B.

The India-England league match will start at 8 pm IST today. India will next face China on July 5 and New Zealand on July 7. In the first match which ended yesterday morning Indian time, the teams of Spain and Canada clashed in Group C. Spain dominated the match and won 4-1. The league round ends on July 7. After that, the matches for 9th to 16th places, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and games for 5th to 8th places will be held. The final will be held on July 17. The 3rd and 4th place match will also be held on the same day.
