The rumor had been buzzing for several weeks, it is now official. The Spaniard Luis Enrique was officially appointed, this Wednesday, July 5, coach of Paris Saint-Germain. The former Real Madrid and FC Barcelona midfielder thus replaces the French technician Christophe Galtier who only stayed one season on the Parisian bench. Earlier in the day, the club formalized the end of the contract of the former Losc and Nice, a year before its term, in a press release in which he praises his “professionalism”. Enrique signed up for two seasons.

After hanging up his boots in 2004 after more than 500 professional matches, Luis Enrique followed the classic path of many former footballers by settling on a bench. After nearly three seasons coaching the FC Barcelona reserve team, he joined Italy and AS Roma for one season. In 2013, return to the country for a season at Celta Vigo. After only one year, he joined the great FC Barcelona. With the Blaugrana he won nine titles including 2 championships and the prestigious Champions League in 2015. In 2018, he then became coach of “Roja”, the Spanish national team with which he won the Nations League in 2021.
