Marbella. Court file will kick off the new year of Spanish television fiction on January 22, setting the stage for a packed season of premieres.
Despite a general slowdown in television production, over five dozen titles are currently announced, though confirmed release dates remain scarce. Viewers can anticipate the continuation of popular series like Sira (Atresplayer), a follow-up to The time between seams, and the second seasons of Celeste and The castle (both on Movistar Plus+), alongside The tribute (SkyShowtime).
Movistar Plus+ is also set to release a new season of its organized crime series, shifting the perspective to Natalia de Molina, who plays the anti-drug prosecutor of Marbella. The platform also has Killing a Bear, inspired by the real-life investigation into the death of the Cachou bear in the Aran Valley, and For one hundred million, which revisits the 1981 kidnapping of soccer player Quini by mechanics from Zaragoza.
Atresplayer will premiere the comedy Father there is only one, the series on January 25, inspired by Santiago Segura’s films. The series follows Mateo as he takes on childcare for his five children while his wife begins a new job. Rafaela and her crazy world, debuting February 15, stars Ingrid García-Jonsson, Carlos Areces, Joaquín Reyes, and Aníbal Gómez in a surreal comedy about friends attempting to save the world. Further down the line, the second season of between lands will arrive in March, adding Silvia Abascal, Rodolfo Sancho, and Ginés García Millán to the cast, and the third season of The gypsy bride, The babe will premiere in April, continuing the story of Inspector Elena Blasco, played by Nerea Barros.
Investigative journalist Carles Porta is the creator of 33 days, a series based on real events following the escape of two prisoners from the Ponent prison in Lleida, starring José Manuel Poga and Julián Villagrán. Also coming soon is Agata and Lola, a police procedural featuring two female leads: Lola Castro, an empathetic and impulsive inspector, and Ágata Díaz, a police archive documentary filmmaker with autism.

Netflix is also gearing up for a strong year of Spanish content. Salvador, premiering February 6, stars Luis Tosar as a health emergency technician who discovers his daughter’s involvement with violent soccer ultras during a confrontation in Madrid. The second season of Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine, a prequel to The Money Heist, will move the action to Seville on May 15. The final problem, adapted from Arturo Pérez-Reverte’s novel, features Jose Coronado as a retired Sherlock Holmes actor investigating a murder. And That Night, based on Gillian McAllister’s novel, stars Clara Galle, Claudia Salas, and Paula Usero.
Telecinco will launch Thoroughbred on January 28, starring Ángela Molina in a crossover drama and thriller centered around a horse breeding farm where sabotage and a long-standing conflict lead to the poisoning of four horses. The network is also planning Marousia. winds of honor, set in the Naval Military School of Marín and produced in collaboration with the Spanish Navy.
La 1 is promoting the social comedy Hope neighborhood, featuring Mariona Terés as a woman who returns to teaching after earning her credentials during a prison sentence. The historical drama Los 39, previously released in Latin America, will finally be available in Spain, telling the story of the men abandoned by Christopher Columbus on the island of Hispaniola in 1492.
Amazon Prime Video will release the technology thriller Day One with Álex González in the lead role. Another upcoming title is Pigs, starring Malena Alterio as a housewife who takes over the family video store in Valladolid in 1998 after her husband falls into a coma, ultimately pivoting to adult entertainment to save the business. The platform’s highlight will be the second season of Red Queen: Black Wolf, following protagonists as they investigate a crime linked to the Russian mafia on the Costa del Sol.

HBO Max will premiere Ravalear this year. Directed by Pol Rodríguez and Isaki Lacuesta, the series is set in the Barcelona neighborhood of Raval and stars Enric Auquer, María Rodríguez, Quim Ávila, Sergi López, and Francesc Orella. The film, which will be screened at the Berlinale, depicts a family’s struggle to protect their restaurant from an investment fund seeking to redevelop the area. Also coming to the platform is In vitro, produced with 3Cat, set in a Barcelona fertility clinic.
Disney+ will offer If it’s Tuesday, it’s murder, a police comedy filmed in Lisbon with Álex García, Inma Cuesta, Ana Wagener, Pedro Casablanc, and Biel Montoro. The series follows a group of tourists on vacation as they investigate a potential murder among their ranks. Finally, Filmin will release the second season of a series from the creators of Self defense, following a ghostwriter who pens books for social media influencers.
