A tourist from Spain was gang-raped in front of her husband in Jharkhand. Four people have been arrested in this case so far.
Considering the seriousness of the matter, the state Chief Minister Sambhai Soran has ordered a report on the entire issue. He also said that strict action will be taken against the culprits.
Jharkhand DGP Ajay Kumar Singh said, “Four people have been arrested in connection with this incident. Three others have been identified. They will be arrested soon,” he said.
The gang-rape of a foreign tourist has brought Jharkhand’s police administration and law and order into question.

Husband-wife anguish in Instagram video
Hiana, a Spanish woman born in Brazil, along with her husband John (both their names have been changed) posted this on their Instagram page on the morning of March 2nd.
Both of them posted two videos on their shared Instagram page. In the video, Hyana and John give their account of the incident. The video of him speaking in Spanish is going viral on social media.
In the video, he said, “What happened to us should not happen to anyone else. Seven people raped me. They beat us and robbed us. They didn’t do anything else because their intention was to rape me. We are with the police at the hospital. This incident happened to us in India,” he said.
In another video John said, “My face is damaged. But hyena’s situation is worse than mine. They hit me several times with their helmets. Luckily she was wearing a jacket. So she was slightly injured,” he said.
In the videos, injuries can be seen on the faces of both of them. This video was recorded in the hospital. After this, Hiyana said in a bio on her personal Instagram page that the police “refuse to divulge information about the case as it may create problems in the investigation”.

John and Hiana are both Spanish tourists. John lives in the coastal city of Granada, Spain. Hyena is from Brazil. So, he holds Spanish citizenship. Both have Spanish passports.
According to their social media posts, this husband and wife who set out to see the world on a motorcycle have traveled to 66 countries on a motorcycle and covered a distance of 1,70,000 km in the last 5 years.
The two were traveling together on a motorcycle and were planning to go to Australia via Nepal after India. During their journey, the John – Hyena couple crossed Iran, Iraq, Italy, Georgia and Afghanistan.
The couple had been in India for the past six months. Before coming to Jharkhand, they visited various tourist destinations in South India, Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal.
They have millions of followers on social media. Apart from Facebook, Instagram, they are also popular on YouTube.

What happened in Jharkhand?
Hiyana and John were traveling on separate motorcycles through Jharkhand towards Bhagalpur. Their plan was to go to Nepal via Bihar. Both of them came to India on tourist visa.
On the night of March 1, they pitched a tent a short distance from the road in a small village called Kurmahat in Dumka district and slept. Then some youths came there. They invited some of their other friends there. They all enter John and Hyena’s tent and take control of Hyena.
Then, both Hyena and John were attacked. As per Hiyana’s allegations, they raped her and fled from there. They also ransacked their tent.
Horrified by this incident, both John and Hyana gathered their belongings and came to the road. Later, the police of Hanstiha police station, who were on patrol, found both of them in a state of unconsciousness at around 10:30 pm and questioned them. When the police took her to Sarayahat Hospital, Hiyana got the full details of gang-rape and robbery.
