Speaker is a blatant liar – Speaker who retaliated against Sajith’s comment!

by time news

The Rambukkana incident was hotly debated in the Sri Lankan parliament today.

Opposition leader in Sri Lanka Sajith Premadasa has said that the opposition is ready to bring a united front against the government, which is using violence to suppress the protests.

Meanwhile, the Speaker has rejected the statement of the Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa that the Head of State Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is ready to resign if the party leaders request him to do so.

However, Sajid Premadasa maintained that the Speaker had said this and that the Speaker was a blatant liar. The Speaker retorted that you are lying.

He continued to comment on the connection,

Gotabhaya had indicated that he would be ready if leaders representing all possible parties in parliament go and resign, as the speaker had said during a meeting of party leaders.

So we want to say that we are ready to do this. He also asked Sabanagar to give him the opportunity to do so.

So we are ready to do it with the unanimous voice of all those in the opposition. Therefore, Mr. Speaker, we make a request once again.

I request that all the concerned officials be summoned here before 12 noon today and given an opportunity to the party leaders to inquire into the real matters in connection with what has happened.

I urge the Minister of State not to cover up this incident.
