Speaker of the House of Representatives holds talks with his Azerbaijani counterpart
Rabat – The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, held talks on Thursday in Rabat with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova, focusing on strengthening parliamentary cooperation between the legislative institutions of the two countries.
During this meeting, the two parties expressed their firm desire to strengthen coordination and consultation at the bilateral and multilateral levels in the service of the common interests of the two countries, indicates a press release from the House of Representatives.
On this occasion, Mr. Talbi Alami stressed the depth of the solid historical relations linking the two friendly countries and peoples, noting that this visit will give a strong boost to bilateral cooperation between the two countries, as well as between the two legislative institutions.
He welcomed Azerbaijan’s positive stance in support of the Moroccan Sahara issue and the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco, as well as the constant support for this cause in various regional and international forums.
For her part, Ms. Gafarova, currently visiting Morocco at the head of a large parliamentary delegation, stressed the importance of developing relations between Morocco and Azerbaijan and working to unify positions in the service of common interests.
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan extended an invitation to the Speaker of the House of Representatives to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan, expressing her strong desire to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between the two legislative institutions by intensifying the exchange of experience and expertise in the fields of parliamentary action, parliamentary administration and e-Parliament.
