Mujibur Rahman, a member of United People’s Shakti, has announced that he will resign as a Member of Parliament of Sri Lanka.
He also said that this decision was taken as per the unanimous decision of the party’s executive committee.
He said this through a special notification issued today in Parliament.
In this case, former Minister A.H.M. It has been reported that Poussi will be appointed.

He has also announced that he has taken this decision because he will contest for the Colombo Municipal Council in the upcoming local council elections.
He made this announcement as the deadline for nominations closes tomorrow. During this, the Speaker congratulated him on behalf of the Parliament.
Also, Member of Parliament Mujibur Rahman has requested the Election Commission to conduct the local elections in a peaceful manner.
He also thanked the 87,000 people who voted for him in 2015 and the parliamentary staff for their cooperation.
