Patna: A special VIP cell has been constructed to accommodate government employees, people’s representatives and elite people of the society who are caught drinking.
Liquor prohibition has been in effect since 2016 in the state of Bihar. Due to this, there is a ban on drinking alcohol from common people to VIPs.
However, a rest room has been constructed in Samastipur for VIPs who are caught by the police after drinking alcohol in public places. This rest room has been built by the State Excise Department.
Excise Department Superintendent SK Chaudhary said: This rest room has been built on the orders of the chief officers. VIP cells have been built to house government employees caught drinking, BJPs and elite people of the society.
This cell has two bed rooms with sofa, table, and other things kept. At the same time, he said these facilities will not be provided to common people.

Netizens are criticizing such actions of the excise department. In a state where liquor is banned, there are rumors that VIPs are given priority to drink and it is not clear why the Excise department proudly shared this news.
