Southern Railway to Run Special Diwali Train from Chennai to Tuticorin
In celebration of Diwali, Southern Railway has announced that it will be running a special train from Chennai Egmore to Tuticorin on Friday (Nov.10) and Sunday (Nov.12).
The special train, numbered 06001, will depart from Egmore at 11:45 pm on November 10 and 12 and is expected to reach Thoothukudi at 12:30 pm the following day. In return, the train (No: 06002) will depart Tuticorin at 3:30 pm on November 11 and 13 and reach Egmore at 4:45 am the next day.
The train will take the route from Egmore via Thambaram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Chidambaram, Sirkazhi, Mayiladuthurai, Kumbakonam, Thanjavur, Trichy, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Chatur, and Kovilpatti to reach Tuticorin.
This special train service is expected to make travel more convenient for passengers wanting to celebrate Diwali with their families in Tuticorin. It is also expected to ease the rush during the festival season.
Passengers are advised to check the availability and book their tickets in advance for this special Diwali train to avoid any inconvenience.
