At the same time, the activities of increasing the price of electricity and energy in the future are also suspended. About 14 years after its enactment, this special law was suspended.

According to the notification in this regard, allegations of various irregularities in the power and energy sector, particularly in the implementation of the Rapid Increase in Supply of Power and Energy (Special Provisions) Act, 2010 (Amended 2021), have been published in national dailies and have raised various questions in the public mind. is or may be.

In this situation, all ongoing negotiation, project selection/processing and procurement processing activities under this Act shall be suspended for the time being.

However, all activities undertaken under the agreement already executed under this Act shall continue. Further decision will be taken by informing the advisory council in this regard.

This information was informed in a circular signed by Mohammad Shafiullah, information and public relations officer of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources on Sunday (August 18).

In this situation, it has been decided that the consideration of price increase proposal under the said clause shall be suspended for the time being.
