Debt restructuring of Sri Lanka

The president’s media unit has informed that the next round of negotiations between the lenders to Sri Lanka and the International Monetary Fund will be held on the 3rd.

During the talks, Sri Lanka’s debt restructuring and creditors’ conference will be discussed in detail, it said.

A special meeting between the President’s Senior Adviser on National Security and Head of the President’s Task Force Sagala Ratnayake and a three-member committee of the International Monetary Fund was held at the President’s Secretariat yesterday.

The meeting was attended by Tubagus Feridhanusetyawan, the outgoing Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund for Sri Lanka and Sarwat Jahan, who was newly appointed.

Debt restructuring of Sri Lanka and Creditors’ Conference have been discussed in detail.

Sagala Ratnayake said that President Ranil Wickramasinghe has been informed about the issues discussed in this meeting and he will inform the International Monetary Fund about his views.
