New Delhi: India has chosen its chief astronaut for the Indo-US space mission. Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla will be the chief astronaut for this mission. Indian Space Agency ISRO announced this on Friday for the International Space Station (ISS) mission. ISRO has also selected Group Captain Prashant Balakrishnan Nair for this mission. In this way, Group Captain Shubhanshu and Prashant Nair will become ‘Gaganyatri’. According to ISRO, Gaganyatri will start their training for the mission from the first week of this month. The experiences gained during this mission will be beneficial for the Indian human space program. Human space flight cooperation between ISRO and NASA will also be strengthened.
This training will be a part of the Axiom-4 mission
Indian astronauts Shubhanshu Shukla and Prashant Nair have completed their preparations for this mission. This training will be a part of the Axiom-4 mission which is being done under an agreement with Axiom Space. Their training for the International Space Station (ISS) will begin from the first week of August.
