A woman in the US is ready for doomsday, she spent a whopping $45,000 on protecting her home, including food that could last for 25 years. “I am preparing as a whole, for war, inflation, a nuclear disaster and total chaos,” McKenzie said in the post

Rowan McKenzie, 38, a housewife from the US state of Missouri, became a social media phenomenon after she revealed that she had been preparing her home for 11 years due to fear of an emergency and stepped up and spent almost $45,000 on supplies as a result of the escalation of war between Russia and Ukraine.

The war in Ukraine and rising inflation left no doubt to 38-year-old Rowan McKenzie that she was right. For over a decade she has been busy accumulating food and providing survival equipment for fear of a nuclear disaster or any other type of social collapse.

Mackenzie’s social media posts documenting her doomsday preparations. And tips for others have earned her a massive following of over 81,000 on TikTok. “I am preparing as a whole, for war, inflation, nuclear disaster and total chaos,” McKenzie said in one post.

What started as stocking her closet with beans and rice 11 years ago has turned into a huge enterprise that includes a hidden bunker in the basement with lots of food and a cache of weapons, the website Jam Press reported. She said she believed she had created a “flawless system” for the equipment and food that could keep her and her family alive for 25 years.

She spent a total of $20,000 on food, and defense and protection equipment including weapons, so according to the Daily Mail with her latest additions, she now believes the amount is closer to $45,000. “The price of everything here has gone up so much – but I have to prepare myself and my family for a disaster. I’ve added a lot more food to the bunker and a new water filtration system,” she said.

In addition, she set up a greenhouse for home produce and added more ammunition and weapons to the “secret bunker”. McKenzie said she received a fair amount of responses to her viral video, but says she believes she made herself “very vulnerable” but “for a good cause.”

“My friends and family think I’m crazy, but I always tell them that when the time comes, they won’t call me crazy,” she said. She called the others to get ready and make a list of the supplies they needed. “It’s kill or be killed, and you need the best chance to survive.”
