Some Hollywood franchise films get a huge response in India. One of the most important of these is the Marvel Cinematic Universe. ‘Avengers Endgame’ was its box office king. Now, another Marvel movie is expected to have a good release day collection in India. The third film in MCU’s Spider-Man series, ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ has been released in India today. The film received the best theatrical count of any Hollywood film after Kovid.
The film has been released in 3264 screens in India alone. The film, which created excellent pre-release hype, also garnered huge reservations. It is learned that the film has grossed Rs 35 crore through advance bookings this weekend alone. After Avengers End Game and Bahubali 2, this is the best advance booking for a movie in India. Trade analysts estimate that the film will collect Rs 16-17 crore today, the release date alone. It is estimated that the film will hit the 30 crore net on its first day, surpassing all estimates. If so, Spider-Man will surpass the recent Bollywood hit Akshay Kumar’s Suryavanshi in the opening collection.
Earlier, detailed reports were released about the response to the film in India in pre-booking. In the first 24 hours after booking, more than five lakh tickets for the film were sold. This is the best response to a Hollywood movie in India after the Endgame. In 2019, Avengers sold 14 lakh tickets in 24 hours. PVR is the largest seller of tickets on multiplex networks. In the first 24 hours after booking, they sold 1.6 lakh tickets. Meanwhile, trade analysts estimate that the film will be the first billion-dollar box office hit in Hollywood after Kovid.
