The Moldovan authorities have asked Germany for assistance in the supply of gas, Der Spiegel reports.

According to the newspaper, this request to the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier was voiced by the Moldovan leader Maia Sandu when he visited Moldova at the end of September.

Steinmeier’s office told the newspaper that “a conversation on energy issues” took place between the heads of state, but did not provide details.
