Filmmaker Steven Spielberg has sold his 86m Seven Seas yacht, Bloomberg and Forbes reported. Spielberg has already ordered a new 109m superyacht from the Dutch company Oceanco.

According to media reports, the yacht Seven Seas was acquired by Zekelman Investments, which is associated with Canadian steel businessman Barry Zekelman. One of his subsidiaries produced steel for the construction of a wall on the Mexican border in Arizona.

The amount of the deal is unknown, but earlier Spielberg estimated the value of the yacht at $ 158 million. The vessel can accommodate 20 guests and 28 crew members, the decks are made of teak wood. Seven Seas has nine cabins, a helipad and a cinema, Forbes says.

The publication estimates the fortune of Zekelman at $ 2.3 billion, Spielberg at $ 3.7 billion.

Steven Spielberg has won three Academy Awards: two for Schindler’s List for Best Picture and Best Director, and one for directing Saving Private Ryan.

Last year, amid the pandemic, boat sales in the United States reached their highest level in 13 years, according to the National Association of Marine Manufacturers, cited by Forbes.
