After the two priests involved in the shooting that a police subintendent received in the Juan Rey neighborhood in Bogotá were released due to irregularities in their capture, the victim’s mother spoke to the national media about the current state of health of her son, who according to the most recent medical reports, is torn between life and death.

The events occurred inside a priest’s house, in the town of San Cristóbal, while two religious and two policemen, who apparently were on duty, conversed in that compound.

“The doctors tell me that the little heart was cut in two”, explained Flor María Loaiza, mother of subintendent Jesús Daniel Cortés, who last weekend was shot at chest level, which caused severe cardiac trauma.

The authorities have said that it could be an accident, since the shot occurred when the police had already entered the rectory to inspect the situation, asking the defendants for the two weapons they had found at the scene, at which time they one of them was activated explanation with which the uniformed man’s mother is not satisfied, but that they would have sought to kill him.

“That the priests had some weapons on the desk, they were drinking and they say it was an accident, but for me it is not an accident (…) I ask that this situation be clarified as quickly as possible,” the woman asked the authorities. .

The appointed priests are Frank Jordano Castro and Miguel Ángel González, who had to be released due to irregularities in the capture process, and it is the Prosecutor’s Office who is currently carrying out an investigation process, in which, up to now, it has managed to show that the two priests were in a state of drunkenness, while the uniformed men were not.

In addition to the fact that the weapons that were seized from the clergymen did not have a safe-conduct, so it is presumed that they were acquired illegally.
