After the investigation of the “designated commission, through different testimonies, as well as a communication from the investigated Pedro Santana Rodríguez, the Assembly filed charges against him and proceeded to unilaterally terminate his employment contract, for considering the complaints of labor and sexual harassment against workers of the institution to be sustained.”

After Santana’s departure, the decision was made to reform the guidelines for assuming this position, and with the support of La Casa de la Mujer de Bogotá, they sought “provide labor guarantees” to the victims, and “a comprehensive reparation process began.” Likewise, a care route and protocol were formulated to address this type of gender-based violence.

It is not the first case involving a member of the president’s cabinet for sexual violence. In recent days, after the president summoned Víctor de Currea-Lugo to be the Colombian ambassador in the United Arab Emirates, he had to decline the offer due to various complaints against him.
