More than 400 boys, girls and adolescents gathered at the city’s Olympic Stadium, ready to compete in various disciplines in the I Chimborazo 2024 Inclusive School Games.
Under the motto “I want to win, but if I can’t, I want to have the courage to try,” the participants swore to give their best in each competition. This event, organized by the Chambo-Riobamba District Education Directorate, Special Olympics-Chimborazo and the Chimborazo Sports Federation (FDCH), marks a milestone in the sports history of the region. More than ten educational establishments joined this inclusive initiative, among them the UEE “Carlos Garbay”, Nazareno, Nidia Jaramillo, Sordos de Chimborazo, Amelia Gallegos, Louis Braille, Germán Abdo, Condorazo, Juan de Velasco, Edmundo Chiriboga, Carlos Cisneros , San Felipe Neri Sur, José María Román, Fernando Daquilema, Isabel de Godín and Luis Benavides. In addition, the Adapted Sports Team of the Chimborazo Sports Federation was also part of this sports meeting. The presence of various local and provincial authorities denotes the support that this event has received.
