Sport plays an economic and social role, creating added value and employment opportunities (Manager)

Speaking during a videoconference organized by the Higher Institute of Applied Engineering and the Fath Union Sport (FUS) club under the theme “Sports management in Morocco”, Mr. El Hajoui emphasized the contribution of sport considered as an integrated economic sector including infrastructure, industry, media and services, among other areas.

Based on this observation, Mr. El Hajoui insisted on the need to invest in sport, considering that the sports economy has become an essential factor in development which stimulates investment and job creation.

He also called for special attention to be paid to sports management imposed by market law, especially since clubs have now become listed on the stock exchange, creating great opportunities and generating enormous profits.

The FRMF vice-president explained that the persistence of governments in resuming football championships responds to an economic need and demonstrates the importance and impact of sport on the economy, hence the interest in effective sports management.

Regarding sports management in the Kingdom, Mr. El Hajoui indicated that national football has experienced strong momentum thanks to the efforts of the FRMF through the support and assistance of clubs.

Recalling the need to invest in training centers, human resources, clubs and infrastructure, the vice-president of the FRMF welcomed the law encouraging the transformation of sports associations into public limited companies, which will contribute to the creation of added value for the national economy.

To do this, Mr. El Hajoui affirmed that Moroccan clubs have leaders and managers with great skills that will enable them to succeed and achieve the expected objectives.

Also president of FUS, Mr. El Hajoui said that the capital club focuses on investing in infrastructure so that it becomes a social project for the city, not limited to football but to other disciplines, including swimming, volleyball and basketball.

Regarding the resumption of Botola Pro football, he indicated that the commission studying realistic solutions around this question, which he chairs, presented to the president of the FRMF a global vision taking into consideration the technical and health aspects of football practice.
