Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Advisor to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Labor and Employment has visited Comilla and Noakhali to monitor the ongoing flood situation and provide necessary guidance.
Speaking as the chief guest at an exchange meeting organized at Comilla Circuit House on Friday (August 23), he thanked everyone involved in dealing with the flood situation.
Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan said that a group of dictators have looted thousands of crores of rupees and fled the country, crippling the country economically. However, the people of the country are with us, if everyone comes forward, it will not take time to build the country.
The sports advisor also urged the people of the country to be united in facing any disaster. He requested everyone including law enforcement, fire service, Red Crescent Society, Department of Livestock, Civil Surgeon, civil society, students, media workers and general public to work together to deal with the flood situation.
Talking about the activities of the registered youth of the Youth Development Department, he said that 18,500 active and skilled youth of the Youth and Sports Department are in the field to overcome any crisis.
Adviser directed all officials of Ministry of Youth and Sports and Ministry of Labor and Employment to deposit one day’s salary to relief fund of Chief Adviser to help flood victims. He also applauded the army for undertaking the same.
After the discussion, the adviser visited the Uttarada High School shelter in Laksam. He inquired about the flood victims there. Listened to their current situation and witnessed relief distribution activities among the affected.
The advisor also visited the flood victims’ shelter at Chaumuhani in Noakhali in the afternoon of the same day and assured them of all-out cooperation. Asif Mahmud congratulated all those engaged in the flood situation in the city in the exchange meeting organized in the office of the District Commissioner of Noakhali and said that the government will work on the reformation of the system in the process of reforming the country, the whole system should be reformed.
He also said that the student movement was not only for the change of power, but for the reconstruction of the entire country.
The adviser of the Ministry of Youth and Sports urged everyone to work together for the reconstruction of the country and to restore peace in the public life of the people.
