Bayern’s sporting director Eberl announces transfer stop

Max Eberl, sporting director of FC Bayern Munich, believes that further transfers from his club are unlikely in this transfer phase. “If nothing unusual happens, then we will have the squad ready for this season,” he said at a press conference on Thursday in response to a question from t-online.

Eberl also praised the quality of the squad and the intensive preparation: “We have an outstanding squad with outstanding players who have formed a good symbiosis with Vincent Kompany in the preparation.”

Munich’s CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen reacted with incomprehension to the unusually harsh criticism of Bayern’s sports director Max Eberl by Bayer boss Fernando Carro. “We were extremely irritated by Fernando Carro’s personal attack on Max Eberl,” said Dreesen in a statement from the German record champions. “I also told Fernando Carro this in a personal conversation, because we can and will never tolerate, let alone accept, such irrelevant attacks on FC Bayern.”

In the transfer poker for Bayer Leverkusen’s national player Jonathan Tah, Carro apologized after his comments. “I am an emotional person. I made the statements about Max Eberl in an informal exchange with Bayer 04 fans. It was not my intention that they should be taken up and multiplied in this form. But that does not change the statement, for which I hereby apologize,” Carro told “Bild”. You can read more about the incidents and what Carro said exactly here.

Bayern’s sporting director Christoph Freund spoke about Jonathan Tah’s potential move to the record champions during Munich’s friendly win against WSG Tirol (3-0). When asked by Sky reporter Torben Hoffmann, Freund said of the Tah case: “The transfer window is not yet closed. But there was never a deadline, there was a lot of speculation, but that’s always the case. We are very happy with the squad that is available to us.”

Regarding a possible departure of Leon Goretzka, Freund did not want to reveal his cards: “We will see. He is a full professional and will fight for his place,” said the manager.

Kingsley Coman is clearly set to leave FC Bayern – whether on loan or by sale. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Hansi Flick and FC Barcelona are now interested in a loan deal for the French international.

According to speculation, the club of the former national coach had previously worked on a transfer of Spain’s European Championship star Nico Williams. However, since no breakthrough had been achieved, Barça now discussed other wingers internally and ended up at FC Bayern.

Most recently, a report by the TV channel Sky caused a stir. According to the report, Paris Saint-Germain would be interested in loaning Coman.

Serge Gnabry will probably stay at FC Bayern. As Sky reports, the decision has been made not to sell him. He is said to have convinced the club management with his performances and coach Vincent Kompany is banking on the 29-year-old, it was further reported.

Former Bayern star Martín Demichelis will not be returning to the Bundesliga as a coach for the time being. According to media reports, the 43-year-old Argentinian is moving to Mexico to join Rayados de Monterrey. At the end of July, Demichelis was sacked after one and a half years at Argentinian record champions River Plate from Buenos Aires.
