Seoul – December 31, 2025 – A new standard for integrity in athletics was set today as the Sports Ethics Center, under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, hosted the inaugural 2025 Sports Ethics Awards ceremony at the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu. The event recognized individuals and organizations championing the eradication of violence in sports—a key priority for the Ministry.

Recognizing Champions of Ethical Sport

The newly established Sports Ethics Award honors those dedicated to fostering a safe and respectful environment in Korean athletics.

  • The Korea Gymnastics Association, the Seoul Metropolitan Sports Association for the Disabled, and the Korea Para Swimming Federation were honored with the Sports Ethics Award.
  • The Seoul Metropolitan Sports Council, Gyeonggi Province Sports Council, and Gyeongbuk Sports Council received the Sports Ethics Promotion Award.
  • The awards recognize contributions to promoting sports ethics and serving as positive social role models.

After a thorough public review process, the Korea Gymnastics Association, the Seoul Metropolitan Sports Association for the Disabled, and the Korea Para Swimming Federation emerged as recipients of the prestigious Sports Ethics Award. These organizations were selected based on their demonstrated commitment to promoting ethical conduct and embodying the values of fair play and respect.

Beyond Recognition: A Commitment to Change

In addition to the Sports Ethics Award, the Seoul Metropolitan Sports Council, Gyeonggi Province Sports Council, and Gyeongbuk Sports Council were acknowledged with the Sports Ethics Promotion Award, highlighting their proactive efforts in fostering a culture of integrity within their respective regions.

Park Ji-young, director of the Sports Ethics Center, emphasized the organization’s unwavering dedication to its mission. “Going forward, the Sports Ethics Center will do its best to quietly but unwaveringly fulfill its role to create a people-centered sports and a trustworthy sports environment,” she stated.
