Perambalur District Level Athletics and Team Games for the Handicapped on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority It took place yesterday at the district sports complex. Perambalur District Collector Srivenkatapriya participated and flagged off the sports competitions for the disabled. He said that not only district level competitions but also state level and national level competitions should be held to win. The district administration will always be ready to do all the help you need, he said.
Transgender people were divided into 4 categories for the competitions and among them the competitions were conducted separately for men and women.
Gifts
Athletics competitions were held in 50, 100, 200, 400 meters, shot put, softball throw, wheelchair competition, standing jump, long jump. Team competitions such as badminton, table tennis, volleyball, volleyball and kabaddi were also held. Transgender people from different parts of the district enthusiastically participated and showcased their talents.
Prizes and certificates were awarded to the top 3 finishers in athletics and the top 2 finishers in team competitions. It is noteworthy that the winners of the tournaments will play in state-level tournaments.
Arrangements for this were made by District Sports Officer Jayakumari, Disability Welfare Officer Bommi, School Principal Education Officer Ariyawan, Athletics Coach Kokila and School Physical Education Teachers.
